Former Scottish Baronial castle, Cringletie House, located near Peebles, is only 30 minutes south of Edinburgh and has 12 bedrooms, one luxurious suite and a self-catering cottage in the grounds. Guests visit Cringletie House
The hotel is set in 28 acres of grounds where guests can enjoy a woodland walk or a stroll through the beautiful walled garden. The walled garden houses a vegetable patch, a children’s play area with climbing frame and trampoline, plus croquet and boules on the lawn – it’s a huge walled garden so there’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.

The region boasts not only spectacular scenery but some of the best mountain biking in the UK at Glentress, fishing on the Tweed (Europe’s premier salmon fishing river), and some of the best field sports and golf in Scotland.

For guests visiting Cringletie House with their best (four-legged) friend, the hotel welcomes well behaved dogs. There are bowls and biscuits on arrival, doggy walk maps and acres of grounds to explore and towels for muddy paws.
The hotel is almost an art-gallery in its own right, with every lounge full of original paintings, each corridor also has original art work and for those who enjoy painting or drawing the hotel grounds provide plenty of inspiration. The team can organise art breaks and time with the artists who have created the art for the hotel.

When the owners renovated Cringletie House, they made it a fully wheelchair accessible hotel and included a range of disabled facilities – quite exceptional for a historic building. These include a ground floor room and en-suite bathroom specifically designed for wheelchair users, technical equipment in the bedrooms to help guests with impaired hearing feel safe in their beds at night and a result have been named in the Top Ten of Accessible Hotels in the UK

The house is now available for family parties and celebrations on an exclusive use basis and gives you the opportunity to be Lord and Lady for the weekend.
