The Courthouse in Knutsford, Cheshire is launching an afternoon tea with a twist, just in time for Mother’s Day. Famed for its indulgent and exquisitely presented afternoon teas, The Courthouse’s new savoury version is perfect for those that prefer their treats a little less sweet.
Located in the picturesque Cheshire town of Knutsford, The Courthouse is a Grade II listed building, designed by George Moneypenny. Built in 1818, the Courthouse has been sensitively restored by the family-run, Flat Cap Hotels, retaining many of its original, spectacular features.
On Mother’s Day, afternoon tea will be served in the majestic Court Room from 12 noon until 5pm against the impressive backdrop of the original court room. The Court Room has stunning decorative ceilings and enormous feature windows. There will be live music for guests to enjoy and Tea from the Manor will be showcasing their selection of fine teas, with a special Lotus Rose blend created for the event.
Developed by Executive Chef, Steven Tuke, the new Barristers High Court Savoury Afternoon Tea includes mouth-watering favourites such as mini minted lamb pasties, chilli scotch eggs and black pudding rolls. There’s also sticky shin beef and Guinness doughnuts, croque monsieurs, walnut scones with red onion jam and blue cheese cream, and potted shrimps with fresh brown bread. Priced at £19.95 per person, the menu is served with a choice of locally sourced Jaunty Goat Arabica Coffee or fine loose-leaf tea by Tea from the Manor.
The Courthouse team, led by resident Head Chef, Ian Roberts has also created a special Mother’s Day Barristers Afternoon Tea, priced at £19.95. Alongside a classic selection of finger sandwiches including egg mayonnaise and watercress, smoked salmon and dill cream cheese and roasted beef and horseradish, there will be passion fruit macarons, cherry scones with clotted cream, red velvet cake, lemon posset dome and Turkish delight.
For added sparkle guests can enjoy a glass of Prosecco or an Old Fashioned cocktail to accompany their afternoon tea.
Mother’s Day afternoon tea at The Courthouse starts from £19.95 per person and is available from 12 noon until 5pm on Sunday 11th March 2018. All afternoon teas must be pre-booked by contacting the hotel on 01565 743333 www.thecourthousecheshire.com or email katy@thecourthousecheshire.com
