Be a chef for the day at Ludlow’s Fishmore Hall. The foodie getaway is offering budding chefs an unmissable opportunity to hone their cookery skills with a new culinary collection of Cook with Chef Packages. With prices starting at just £70, there are a number of options including a two-hour demonstration and cookery masterclass plus a half-day skills course. For those who want to run their own kitchen for the day the Forelles Kitchen package is the ultimate culinary experience.

Set in the heart of the rolling Shropshire countryside, Fishmore Hall has 15 bedrooms with individually designed bathrooms and provides the perfect setting for a specialised cookery masterclass. Not only does Fishmore Hall’s Forelles restaurant boast 3AA Rosettes, placing it in the top ten percent of hotels nationally, but it is located just a few minutes’ walk from the picturesque Shropshire market town of Ludlow, which is a well-known gourmet haven for foodies.

With Joe Gould at the helm, Forelles is famed for its tasting menus and unique dining experiences. Joe has a wealth of expertise, having previously worked with John Campbell at Coworth Park and Olly Rouse at Lainston House, where he was awarded ‘Winner of Chaine des Rotisseurs UK Young Chef of the Year 2015’.

Joe and his team of experienced chefs have put together a collection of cookery courses, tailored to suit everyone from beginners, right through to those wanting to run their own kitchens.

The two-hour Demo Class is suitable for beginner and intermediate cooks and includes a cookery demonstration and masterclass in either pasta making and theory, soufflé secrets, applying sous-vide at home or one pot wonders. Guests will be taught how to feed four people in 10 minutes for £10.

As well as 20-30 minutes of introduction and theory, budding chefs will get an hour of preparation and cooking and 20-30 minutes at the end to plate and taste their dishes and ask questions. Priced at £75 for two people sharing the experience, the package includes a glass of Prosecco, a selection of recipes to take away and is available on Sunday or Monday afternoons between 3-5pm. Some restrictions may apply on key dates.

More experienced chefs may prefer the half-day Treat Yourself package, where they will get the opportunity to learn step-by-step how to prepare a mouth-watering three-course dinner for two. The session includes tea, coffee and pastries on arrival before a packed schedule of kitchen theory, knife skills, cooking techniques and inspired plating tips. Afterwards participants are invited to head over to the Lounge or Spa for a light lunch and an afternoon of relaxation.

After some well-earned time off, participants are invited to dress for dinner and enjoy a pre-dinner drink, feedback chat and a question and answer session with the chef. A sumptuous three course dinner, prepared earlier by course attendees and finished by restaurant staff, will then be served in Forelles.

The package is priced at £165 based on two people sharing the experience and includes the full cookery course and dinner. For £280 guests can add an overnight stay in one of Fishmore Hall’s Executive or Luxury bedrooms with a full English and Continental breakfast the following morning. For Saturday courses there is a £50 supplement per couple.

Those seeking the ultimate chef experience should look no further than Fishmore Hall’s Forelles Kitchen package. Priced at £150 per person or £250 per person with an overnight stay and a freshly prepared breakfast the following morning, the experience gives participants the unique and exciting opportunity to run their own brigade for the day.

As well taking full control of their chosen dish from the produce arriving and preparation, through to the cooking and service, participants will run the pass during dinner, calling out the orders, plating the food and commanding their assembled team. Aprons and chef jackets will be provided by the hotel and recipes will be available for participants to take home and recreate at leisure.

The Forelles Kitchen package includes a two-course lunch and is suitable for either one or two people. For a special price of £299, two people can share the experience and enjoy an overnight stay at the boutique hotel.

For those wanting to unwind, SPAShell™ has an outdoor Cedar hot tub, oversized hammock, monsoon drench shower, thermal cabins, steam room and sauna. A range of Elemis treatments are also available and can be booked at additional cost.
