Perfectly placed in the heart of the beautiful Scottish Borders, Cringletie House is within easy reach of the River Tweed, the Berwickshire coast and numerous local lochs.

Fishing from Cringletie House

Cringletie House is set in 28 acres of its own land, just outside the royal burgh of Peebles. The ‘house’ is a former Scottish Baronial castle with 12 individually designed bedrooms, a sumptuous suite and a beautiful self-catering cottage. The hotel recommends a number of specially selected fishing packages. The team will transfer guests to their chosen location and provide all the essential equipment, including high quality tackle and wading jackets. Cringletie House supports guests with gourmet lunches and professional photography for a truly memorable fishing trip.

The Scottish Borders provides an abundance of fishing opportunities including salmon fishing on the River Tweed. Sea trout are available on its tributaries as well as rainbow trout in the local lochs and sea fishing off the Berwickshire Coast.

The 97 mile-long River Tweed flows east along the Borders and is and Europe’s most important river for catching Atlantic salmon. From 15 October until 30 November, it is the only major Scottish river where anglers are allowed to fish salmon.

Need some tuition?

Alba Game Fishing, the Scottish experts in fishing, offer Cringletie’s guests customised fly fishing packages on the River Tweed. These include instruction, equipment and an individual guide. The company can cater for individuals, groups and corporate parties. Prices start at £340 per person for grayling fishing, which is all year round. Trout fishing is available on the River Tweed or one of the nearby still water lochs from 16 March-6 October. Pike fishing in one of Scotland’s finest pike lochs, is just 25 minutes from Cringletie House. This is available all year round and costs from £370 per person. Salmon fishing on the River Tweed costs from £390 per person from 1 February through to 30 November.

Guest enjoy wildlife and woodland walks in the in 28 acres estate.
